The poker room at Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City is closing on Sunday, February 15. It is scheduled to close at 11:59pm, according to a sign posted in the Trump Taj Mahal poker room.

The move is temporary. Trump Entertainment Resorts CEO Robert Griffin told the Associated Press that the poker room is not currently profitable. The 48-table poker room will be remodeled and is expected to reopen around July 4th, according to the AP report.

Players have reported that the promotional pool is being given away before Sunday’s close through high hands and a lower qualifier on bad beat jackpots. We attempted to confirm this with the Trump Taj Mahal poker room. Those attempts were unsuccessful.

Trump Taj Mahal has struggled in recent years. Trump Entertainment, its parent company, filed for bankruptcy protection in September 2014. The next week, Trump Plaza closed. It soon lost Betfair, its interactive gaming partner.

Trump Taj Mahal lost Ultimate Gaming, its Internet gaming partner, in October 2014. The casino has dodged several announced closing dates and remains open through a financing deal with Carl Icahn that infused the property with $20 million in operating funds.
